As a result, I've written a stand-alone graphical interface that uses youtube-dl (a command line program) to download your youtube videos for you. The latest version is 1.11, and it can now use wget and curl for transfer agents as well, so you're no longer stuck using only youtube-dl, and are no longer restricted to downloading just youtube videos, although that was the initial purpose of the program.
You can find the latest version of the program at
and I plan to keep this page updated always with the latest version of the program when new features or bug fixes are introduced.
Feel free to download the program, and use it all you like, it's free, and I won't mind if you don't like it, honestly, it won't make a bit of difference to me if you use it or not. If you like it, then that's all to the good. If you don't like it, then don't use it, and that will be one less thing for you to worry about.
If you have suggestions for improvements, let me know (addresses are in the program documentation), and I'll think about it. I'm not really all that enthused about this program, since I don't think it should be necessary, but I figure that as long as I'm providing it, I may as well make it as useful as possible.
